The company was founded by Mr. Karl Helm in 1979 as a sole proprietorship at Reininghausstraße 49 in Graz. At that time, due to the oil crisis, the focus of the entire national and international economy was strongly directed towards energy-saving process concepts.
In all areas of heavy industry, wherever technologically feasible, a switch was made to lightweight refractory construction. From the very beginning of its market entry, the young company focused on the refractory lining of industrial furnaces using lightweight materials, primarily products made from ceramic fibers. Thanks to the tireless drive for innovation by Mr. Karl Helm, an extensive body of application and process engineering expertise was developed, which is now fully available.
